Graphite is a key material, as listed on the European “Critical Raw Materials Act”, U.S. “Critical Minerals List” and the “Strategic Minerals List” of China.
At a time, when the European Union is considering imposing tariffs on Chinese electric vehicles and the U.S. government has recently expanded its ban on the export of chips to China.
China upgraded the 2006 temporary Graphite export controls to full export controls and included Three highly sensitive graphite materials, including Natural and Artificial graphite.
In addition, five types of furnace carbon electrodes that are mainly used in the steel industry were removed from the export list.
